Tons of people use Reddit. It’s the 7th most popular website in the US! But the thing is, when it comes to “change Reddit username”, things are not exactly super clear. A quick Google search is likely to give you several different methods, but you’ll most likely be left confused about whether or not it’s even possible.

Can I change Reddit username?

Well, you can change Reddit username, but only if you created your account by signing in with a Google account or Apple ID and you haven’t accidentally chosen to keep your pre-assigned username. You also only have 30 days to change your username!

If you did not create your Reddit account using a Google account or Apple ID, unfortunately, you cannot change your username.

How to change Reddit username

If you signed up for Reddit using a Google account or Apple ID less than 30 days ago, here’s how you can go ahead and change your username on reddit.com:

1. Login to your Reddit account and click on your username in the top right-hand corner.

2. Click on Change Username. If you don’t see the option, you may have accidentally clicked on Keep Username at some point in the past.

3. Type in your new username (make sure it’s unique!) and hit Continue.

That’s it! You’re all done! This is how you change Reddit username, it really is as simple as that.
